“In the near future, no matter where you are, marketers, pollsters and infobots will be close at hand. Do you really need or want closer and more regular contact with these people? Think you have a choice?”

I believe we are entering an era of post disciplinary creative thinking, where the most exciting talent are hybrids and we are still forcing these people to pigeonhole themselves as something our current processes can deal with. Something that fits our modus operandi.

— Pablo MarquesShould we embrace hybrids and let go of skeuomorphism when looking at creative talent?

The KNÄPPA recyclable camera was designed by Jesper Kouthoofd to help encourage IKEA customers to share photos of their homes. It is made out of one piece of folded cardboard secured by two plastic screws and a single circuit board holds all the electronics, camera sensor and integrated USB connector.

There is a combined on/off and shutter button on the front. Holding it down for a few seconds turns the KNÄPPA on or off and a “firm click” takes a photo.

The camera won’t be for sale - it’ll be given away for free at select IKEA stores.
